More than 60 leaders, together representing 1/3 of the fashion industry, have committed to protecting our oceans. To begin this journey, they have identified the following first actions:
Eliminate unnecessary & harmful plastic in B2C packaging
by 2025 & in B2B packaging
Ensure at least 50% of all plastic packaging is
100% recycled content in B2C by 2025
& in B2B by 2030
This is why The Fashion Pact has prioritized plastic management as its first key area of focus in its commitment to protecting our oceans. This is because unnecessary and harmful plastic production and end-of-life processes increase acidification in our oceans which has adverse effects on biodiversity as well as the ocean’s natural ability to mitigate climate change.
